Are you our next Data Governance Manager?
The Data Governance lead will drive and manage the Commercial Organization's Data Strategy and Governance needs. This position will be a new role within the Planning and Analytics group that supports the Commercial Organization. This role will be recognized as the data governance expert within the Commercial Organization.
The position will lead the implementation data governance goals, standards, practices, processes and technologies. Will institute, govern and facilitate processes associated with data management, data quality and data exchange. Will focus on establishing and ensuring adherence to a data governance framework for data policies, standards and practices to achieve the required level of consistency and quality to meet the overall business needs. Will be responsible for providing increased data management discipline and structure for the acquisition, consolidation, and governance of critical data that has widespread use within the Commercial Organization. Will be the point of escalation for governance and data quality and issues and will work closely with business functional area leadership within the Commercial Organization, Shared Services-Master Data and IT to improve the quality and value of core data assets as well as drive the business data strategy and roadmap. Collaborate with business data stewards, Shared Services-Master Data and IT to advance and optimize the adoption of enterprise data governance.
What will you do?
Chair the Master Data Management Stakeholder governance working group of business process owners from commercial organization, Shared Services- Master Data and IT
Establish and govern a data governance implementation roadmap including strategic priorities for development of information-based capabilities
Provide progress reports to Data Governance Steering Committee and oversee periodic updates to the data governance roadmap
Develop and roll out a data governance framework with a focus on improvement of data quality through modifications to organization behavior policies and standards, principles, governance metrics, processes, related tools and data architecture
Develop and maintain standards, policies, and procedures to support the creation of and provide technical assurance for the implementation and ongoing support of data governance program
Define roles and responsibilities related to data governance and ensure clear accountability for stewardship of the information/data assets
Define metrics/indicators of performance and quality metrics and ensure compliance with data related policies, standards, roles and responsibilities, and adoption requirements
Develop & maintain inventory of the information maps and owners
Lead the development, implementation and adoption of data management strategy, data quality standards and adoption requirements within the Commercial Organization
Oversee creation of data cleansing and standardization rules
Oversee creation of match/merge rules to minimize data steward intervention
Develop complex data testing strategies
Develop data movement control strategies
Eliminate redundancy and streamline the data management processes within the Commercial Organization
Identify opportunities pertaining to the use of information assets to achieve efficiency and effectiveness and represent data as a strategic business asset
Collaborate with stakeholders to develop prioritization of data requirements and develop formal implementation plan
Document the established data governance framework for data policies, standards and practices
Create and execute training plans for execution of the established data governance framework for data policies, standards and practices
Monitor and report KPIs and metrics to measure success
Establish and monitor SLAs with various business areas and IT
Execute reporting for business reviews and other adhoc reporting requests
What do you need for this role?
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, MIS or Business Administration required. Masters degree preferred with 5+ years of experience.
7+ years of experience with expert level knowledge in data governance concepts and methods with the ability to apply them to the real world situations; this included data management, data storage, data security, and data access
5+ years of experience with design and execution of processes related to the governing of data, including coordination of creation and updates to business terms, coordination of impact assessments with business and technology teams, facilitating discussions between business lines to determine the best solution for the enterprise.
3+ years of experience in driving strategic objectives through implementation of Data Governance practices.
Keep abreast of relevant governance best practices and implements those best practices as best suits the Commercial Organization.

Knowledge of data related to regulatory requirements and emerging trends and issues
Knowledge of data architecture and technology solutions

Understanding of data quality reporting methodologies and capabilities
Desire to learn and stay current on data governance and data management industry trends
Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills
Possesses strong organizational and prioritization skills
Knowledge of SAP Master Data preferred
Knowledge of ERP, CRM and SCM preferred
Knowledge and understanding of data archiving processes and technologies preferred
Can articulate technical concepts to a non-technical audience
